Believe it or not but Chiropractic isn’t simple a treatment for back and neck pain. People come to my office with a variety of health complaints. I know some people are often surprised to find out that Chiropractic care can help with shoulder problems.
I personally found great benefit while playing high school and college baseball. By age 15 I had horrible shoulder pain when I threw a baseball. The orthopedics and physical therapists told me to do what I was already doing: stretch, ice, and strengthen. But that didn’t help me. I found that the medical community was great at labeling what was wrong but offered me nothing to get better. I mean truly better. Not just something to numb the pain.
My mom took me to a Chiropractor. After the first treatment I felt like I had a new shoulder. He addressed the cause of my problems and did something to make me better. That was something no other doctor or therapist had ever done for me. I credit the fact that I was able to continuing playing baseball through high school and college to my Chiropractor.
The muscles, bones, and nerves that support optimal function of the shoulder are connected to and dependent on the neck, mid back, and even the pelvis.
As a Chiropractor I am able to adjust not only the spine but the shoulder (or any joint for that matter) and improve its function immediately. I have seen several patients that have been told they have torn rotator cuffs, need surgery, or are permanently disabled and been able to help. I love to do what my Chiropractor did for me…actually get people better in my office!
