Your Spine, Your Brain, Your Emotions

Chiropractic, movement, & emotions

Is chiropractor more than just a treatment for back pain?! Absolutely!

There is a significant amount of science on the part of your brain (the cerebellum) playing a role in your movement, emotions, and organ function.

Why should this excite you?

The cerebellum gets directly stimulated by your spine.

Your spine is sending endless information to your brain via nerves (aka, your spinal cord).

Imagine your brain like a computer system. Your body, joints, organs, and spine are like the keypad.

Let me give you two examples.

First, an easy one.

Right now move your hands or feet. What you’re not conscious of is right now your spine is talking to your brain and saying, “Hey, the feet and hands are moving.  Get ready.”

One other thing happens in this scenario. Your brain has to be ready to talk with over joints such as your knees, shoulders, and even your organs.

Just moving your hands or feet triggers the brain to get the heart and lungs ready.

Think about it. Your brain must perfectly regulate your blood pressure and oxygen levels, or you’ll pass out.

Now, what about emotions?

Well, moving your spine can have a beneficial impact on your mood.

What if right now you got up and started dancing or doing push-ups?

Maybe you’ve heard how people who love exercise get a “high.” It’s not just hormones and chemicals.

Movement stimulates signals from your spine into areas of the brain that create positive emotion. They can also stimulate fear if your movement is in an emergency.

It’s amazing how interconnected your spine and brain are.

More reason to make sure chiropractic is a foundation for your well being.

If your spine is not healthy, you can’t be truly healthy.

BE PROACTIVE. Get adjusted regularly. Don’t wait for pain before you take action.
